Este primeiro filme de Anne Fletcher como realizadora, com Sandra Bullock e Ryan Reynolds acaba por ser mais um filme do género comédia romântica sem grande novidade.O que se pode e deve realçar são as excelentes tiradas de humor tanto de Margaret (Bullock) como de Andrew (Reynolds) e a excelente prestação de uma das Golden Girls Betty White como Grandma Annie.
Margaret é a directora que ninguém quer ter e obriga o seu assistente, Andrew, a casar com ela para que não seja deportada para o Canadá. O que começa como uma relação de ódio-ódio transforma-se ao longo do filme numa relação de amor-amor, como seria de esperar.
