Este thriller faz-nos mudar o que pensamos ser o fim do filme até ao aparecimento dos créditos finais.

Com Denzel Washington e Clive Owen nos papeis principais, os secundários também não são novatos na indústria. Jodie Foster e Christopher Plummer fazem parte deste lote.

Dalton Russell (Clive Owen) leva a cabo o que parece ser um ordinário assalto a um banco mas o detective Keith Frazier (Denzel Washington) consegue provar que, afinal, nada é o que aparenta ser.
